OMEGA is proud to include the Swiss Made mark on all of its watches. This simple wording guarantees a standard of quality established over many centuries and is a world-renowned symbol of excellence.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean pays homage to OMEGA’s dive watch heritage and perfectly encapsulates the brand’s commitment to exploration, innovation, and style.
This 42 mm model is crafted with a case in polished-brushed stainless steel. It features a polished blue ceramic bezel ring with a diving scale in white enamel, while the inner ring is made from polished grade 5 titanium.
The black dial is presented with a matte finish, and includes rhodium-plated hands and indexes with white Super-LumiNova. Along with transferred wording in white, there are also four Arabic numerals in white.
Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912, this Seamaster Planet Ocean is worn on a polished-brushed bracelet in stainless steel, featuring an extendable foldover rack-and-pusher with an extra diver extension. On the reverse side of the watch, the screw-in caseback is made from polished-brushed grade 5 titanium, and displays OMEGA’s famous seahorse emblem.
-
Anti-magnetic
The movement is unaffected by exposure to strong magnetic fields, even those greater than 1.5 tesla (15,000 gauss).
-
Chronometer
Label given to a watch which has undergone precision tests and received a certificate from an official body (COSC).
-
Master Chronometer Certified
Guaranteeing the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic-resistance, as set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
-
Screw-in crown
Self-locking crown, screwed into the tube of the case, used for highly water resistant divers' watches.
-
Time zone function
Allows the hour hand to be easily adjusted to different time zones without stopping the watch.
-
Unidirectional rotating bezel
A bezel which turns in only one direction. Particularly useful for divers who cannot accidentally rotate it in the wrong direction, which could cause them to miscalculate their dive times. A rotating bezel makes it easy to measure elapsed time.

The very first Planet Ocean models were inspired by OMEGA’s Seamaster 300 timepieces from the late 1950s and early 1960s. This allowed the brand’s signature diving watch DNA to remain at the heart of the original 2005 design.
The Planet Ocean has now evolved over four generations. While retaining the same spirit and signature orange colour, each era has expressed its own unique identity, along with pioneering innovations that embody OMEGA’s passion for pushing boundaries.
As a nod to the original Planet Ocean, the numerals on the dial are now open-work once again. A squarer and sharper update has been made to match the redesigned case and bracelet, helping to create a look of consistency across the entire design.

1 / 4
Grade 5 Titanium
Titanium alloys are light, corrosion-resistant, biochemically inert and able to withstand extreme temperatures. These properties make them particularly appropriate for products in the aircraft, spacecraft and medical sectors. They achieve the perfect balance between solidity, corrosion-resistance and workability. Grade 5 titanium offers a bright grey colour that is close to that of stainless steel, and suits both "brushed" and "polished" finishing.
-
2 / 4
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is certainly the most conventional of watchmaking materials for outer craftsmanship, and offers beauty, strength and affordability. OMEGA uses 316L stainless steel. Known for its corrosion-resistance and high lustre after polishing, this material is often the ideal choice for watches in both daily-use and high-stress situations such as diving and adventure.
-
3 / 4
Ceramic
OMEGA has unrivalled expertise in the use of ceramics, dating back more than 10 years. Taking its origin from the Greek word "keramos", ceramic is an inorganic, non-metallic substance obtained by firing at high temperatures. It allows the creation of completely dense watch parts with exceptional mechanical properties. Ceramic is one of the most popular choices for customers when selecting their timepiece, thanks to its appealing colour range and specific properties, such as it being two times lighter than stainless steel, hardwearing, highly scratch-resistant, chemically inert, hypoallergenic, and non-magnetic.
-
4 / 4
Sapphire Crystal
To really appreciate the finer details of a timepiece, OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with a highly scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment. Before the machining and finishing processes take place, the sapphire crystals are produced under the Verneuil process, also called flame fusion. It involves the melting of the raw substance using oxyhydrogen flame and the crystallisation of the melted droplets to form a cylinder. Graded 9 on the Mohs-hardness scale (graded 1-10), the resulting sapphire crystals are virtually scratch-proof and very hard, ensuring an unhindered vision at all times.

The advantages
of this watch
of this watch
Inside this timepiece are the revolutionary components that guarantee the highest standards of performance. From the Co-Axial escapement for long-lasting precision, to the silicon balance spring for superior anti-magnetism, OMEGA has conquered every challenge that matters.
Master Chronometer Certified
Superior Precision
Twice as precise as any officially certified chronometer
Our Master Chronometer watches are tested and certified twice. First, the movement is Chronometer-certified according to international standard ISO3159, requiring a precision of -4/+6 second per day, following the tests at the Official Swiss Chronometer Control (COSC). Then, the watch head and its movement undergo eight Master Chronometer tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) with criteria of 0/+5 seconds per day.
Master Chronometer Certified
Anti-Magnetic
Proprietary anti-magnetic materials
Everyday items such as mobile phones, metal clasps on handbags, laptops, MRI, induction hobs or automatic doors; subject a watch to magnetic fields and can affect its performance. To prevent the risk of permanent deviations of up to several minutes a day we've conceived movements with antimagnetic materials, such as the silicon balance spring, capable of withstanding the highest fields.
Master Chronometer Certified
Water-resistance
To ensure the integrity of our timepieces at depth, not just some but all watches are fully immersed in water and pressure is applied up to the point of the guaranteed water resistance. By submerging each watch in water we have chosen – yet again - to exceed normal testing standards.
5-Year Warranty
In our quest to raise industry standards and push the boundaries of quality, all OMEGA watches are offered with a full 5-year warranty. This customer promise shows the confidence we have in the excellence of our timepieces, and provides extra trust and assurance when choosing your watch.
Less servicing
Expect fewer visits to the service centre. The Co-Axial escapement is designed to reduce friction inside the movement. As a result, less lubrication is needed and hence less servicing. Compared to non-Co-Axial watches, the intervals between getting your watch serviced will be much longer.
Shock-resistance
During the homologation process, OMEGA watches are tested to the extreme. This phase includes shock examinations, to confirm reliability and to check that its precision is maintained after a severe impact. All OMEGA timepieces are designed to withstand shocks corresponding to a 1-metre drop on a hard wooden floor. For a standard 150g timepiece, this sudden and rapid acceleration is an equivalent force of up to 5,000 G on the watch head.
